As they continue to push boundaries in space exploration, they are seeking a talented Space Debris Engineer to join their mission-driven team.
Position Overview: I'm seeking a skilled Space Debris Engineer who is passionate about developing strategies and technologies to address the growing problem of space debris. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in designing, analyzing, and implementing solutions to mitigate the risks posed by space debris to satellites, spacecraft, and orbital infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis to assess the impact of space debris on satellite missions and orbital environments.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies and techniques to minimize the risk of collisions with space debris, including collision avoidance maneuvers and debris removal missions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and optimize spacecraft and satellite systems for enhanced resilience to space debris impacts.
- Evaluate and integrate technologies such as debris tracking sensors, collision avoidance algorithms, and active debris removal systems into spacecraft designs and mission plans.
- Contribute to the development of international standards and regulations for space debris mitigation and management.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and research developments in space debris tracking, modeling, and mitigation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in space debris mitigation, satellite operations, or orbital dynamics analysis.
- Familiarity with space debris tracking and modeling software (e.g., AGI STK, ESA Space Debris Office tools) and orbital mechanics principles.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in numerical simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python) for space debris risk assessment and collision prediction.
- Experience with spacecraft design and mission planning, including collision avoidance maneuvers and end-of-life disposal strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Benefits:
- Opportunities for professional development and advancement in a dynamic and rapidly evolving field.
- Collaborative and inclusive work culture that values innovation and teamwork.
- Exposure to cutting-edge technology and the opportunity to contribute to space exploration and sustainability.
