Our client is seeking a Yard Manager to join their team in their Yard/Offshore Angola operations.
You will manage the local maintenance of the yard, including the activities and people.

The mission:
Corrective Maintenance
- Organize yard activities to support daily FCB operations.
- Optimize FCB technical availability throughout the year.
- Minimize corrective maintenance expenses.
- Analyse breakdowns with the technical department.
Planned Maintenance (Preventive)
- Plan annual maintenance for FCB in the country.
- Monitor and report on planned maintenance activities daily.
- Optimize dry dock costs and duration.
- Implement best practices for yard activities.
- Manage local purchasing and logistics for maintenance, following company procedures and collaborating with the Lisbon-based technical department.
- Execute actions requested by management.
Team management
- Manage the local technical team to support FCB maintenance activities, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Motivate and guide the team to achieve yard goals through daily team meetings, on-board and warehouse training, and sharing failure investigation results.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient environment between the base team and the rest of the Yard.
- Create a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.
- Ensure regular performance appraisals for FCB team members under supervision.
Yard management
- Coordinate with local authorities and base management to organize yard activities.
- Manage and report on activity budgets and necessary records to track performance.
- Manage and ensure sufficient stock for FCB activities (corrective and preventive).
- Coordinate external personnel, companies, and suppliers.
- Source and evaluate new suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor tools and industrial equipment.
- Propose and implement yard arrangements and expansions.
Safety
- Implement and improve QHSE procedures, culture, and best practices in the yard, in collaboration with the QHSE Officer.
- Organize safety meetings and manage safety results (zero recordable accidents), in collaboration with the QHSE Officer.
- Lead by example regarding safety best practices.

Your profile:
- Technical Degree in Mechanical or Electricity
- Pack Office (Word, Excel) - Good command
- Maintenance Software - Knowledgeable
- Fluency in English is a must (Portuguese would be a bonus)
- Minimum 15 years in Industrial Repair and Maintenance
- Minimum 3/5 years in people management, in a multi-cultural environment (ideally in Africa)
- Ideally experienced in fleet management
