Senior Automation Engineer

I am looking for a seasoned Senior Automation Engineer (PLC focus) to join my client's dynamic team in Zurich. In this challenging position, you will play a key role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of automated control systems based on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Your responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain PLC-controlled control systems for industrial applications.
• Analyze process requirements and translate them into PLC control logic.
• Program PLCs (e.g., ladder logic, structured text, function block diagram).
• Configure and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA systems for process monitoring and control.
• Integrate and test automation systems with other equipment and control systems.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for automation systems.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and automation trends.

Your profile:

• Completed studies in electrical engineering, automation technology, mechatronics or a related field (Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred).
• At least 6 years of professional experience as a PLC automation engineer in an industrial environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of PLC hardware and software including IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
• Experience with various PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley).
• In-depth knowledge of industrial automation concepts and protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Wonderware) will be seen as an advantage.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• German native speaker required.
