Civil Engineer – Building Structures

Job Description:

My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Basel. In this role, you will play a key role in all phases of the engineering process for infrastructure and building construction projects, from planning and design to construction administration.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in project planning and development, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Perform structural calculations and analysis using industry-standard software.
• Develop and prepare construction drawings and specifications.
• Conduct site investigations and prepare geotechnical reports (may require collaboration with geotechnical engineers).
• Liaise with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project coordination.
• Provide technical support and guidance during construction administration.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest regulations and standards in Swiss civil engineering practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure or building construction projects.
• Fluency in German (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar civil engineering design software is essential.
• Proficiency in other relevant software (e.g., structural analysis software) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
