Are you passionate about boats and the maritime industry? Our client is renowned for their expertise in the technical design and engineering of yachts, from compact tenders to opulent superyachts. Whether it's a new build or a refit project, they transform the vision of yacht owners into a comprehensive technical blueprint, which guides shipyards through work preparation and final construction. They are involved in all stages of naval architecture, offering a full spectrum of engineering and consulting services for the marine industry.
Our client, a well-established leader in yacht design and engineering, is searching for a Naval Architect to join their growing team.
The Role
As a Naval Architect, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of yacht design, from concept to detailed engineering. Your key responsibilities will include the design and technical calculations for a variety of vessels, ranging from sleek tenders to luxury superyachts. You'll work across multiple sizes and speeds of vessels, collaborating with a close-knit and highly skilled team. This role offers you the chance to learn from experienced professionals, hone your skills, and contribute to the creation of world-class yachts.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and calculate yachts from initial concepts through to technical specifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues on structural, performance, and safety aspects of various yacht types.
- Participate in problem-solving to ensure designs meet the client's vision and adhere to industry standards.
- Work on a variety of projects, each with its own unique challenges, from high-speed tenders to ultra-luxury superyachts.
- Contribute to the creation of innovative, technically sound, and aesthetically striking vessels.
Requirements
- A degree in shipbuilding or maritime engineering (MBO or HBO level).
- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, and Maxsurf.
- A strong grasp of naval architecture principles and yacht performance.
- Excellent command of the Dutch language (both spoken and written).
- A passion for water sports or boating is a definite plus!
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
