Operations & Maintenance Specialist - Compressed Air (Centrifugal Compressers & Pumps)
Location: Bowling Green, KY
Salary: $70,000 - $95,000 + Overtime + Benefits
Responsibilities:
- Conducting on-site inspections and monitoring, along with remote monitoring, of the compressed air system's operation.
- Implementing preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance programs.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and quality assurance programs.
- Coordinating plant production and maintenance activities through communication with the customer.
- Scheduling maintenance tasks for instrumentation, electrical systems, compressors, dryer systems, pumps, valves, motors, and other plant equipment in accordance with company guidelines.
- Periodically conducting system walkdowns to identify potential issues such as minor leaks, erratic control, proper valve operation, condensate trap operation, and unusual noises.
- Scheduling preventive maintenance tasks and related support labor, then confirming their completion.
- Upholding a clean and professional installation to maintain the facility's appearance.
- Responding promptly to "Call Outs" as needed to sustain the customer's compressed air supply.
- Cultivating positive working relationships with system vendors, manufacturers, and contractors.
- Adhering to proper management of change (MOC) protocols for adjusting set points, alarm and trip points, or other operating parameters.
- Documenting any identified preventative maintenance tasks, potential safety hazards, or low inventories (e.g., water chemicals, glycol, oil, filters) in the weekly activity report.
- Traveling to sites as required to support construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- The preferred candidate should hold at least an Associate's Degree in a technical field.
- Demonstrated comprehension of compressed air system service and operation, encompassing large centrifugal compressors, air dryers, instrumentation, and PLC/DCS control systems.
- Proficiency in electrical principles, especially in practical scenarios involving the safe operation and repair of electrical equipment, is a requirement.
- Mechanical acumen is essential; candidates must possess basic skills in maintaining mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in computer programs is crucial; the candidate should have the ability to use or quickly learn various software systems employed at facilities, including, but not limited to, the MS Office suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, coupled with the ability to effectively engage with customers and vendors.
- Travel up to 40% will be required for this position.
Preferred Skills:
- Compressed Air Systems - Demonstrated expertise in servicing and operating compressed air systems, encompassing large centrifugal compressors, air dryers, instrumentation, and PLC/DCS control systems.
- Instrumentation and Electrical - The candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of electrical principles, particularly in practical situations involving the safe operation and repair of electrical equipment.
- Mechanical Aptitude - The candidate must have fundamental skills in maintaining mechanical systems.
- Computer Programs - Proficiency is required in using or acquiring the ability to use various software systems employed at facilities, including, but not limited to, the MS Office suite.
- Preventitve maintenace on Centrifugal Compressors/Pumps (Highly prefered)

- Climbing or balancing, with the ability to safely ascend ladders and platforms.
- Identifying abnormal equipment noise.
- The associate should be able to don required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as OSHA-approved hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and task-specific hand protection.
