Our client is looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to join one of West Africa's largest shipyards.

The mission:
- Supervision and coordination of repair and mechanical components associated with vessels.
- Anticipate, prepare, organize and supervise propulsion line mechanical and general mechanical work on board during technical stoppage of ships afloat or dry dock
- Ensure technical and security coordination on the ground.
- Ensure end-of-shift checks: securing the premises and exit of personnel.
- Ensure that necessary equipment is available and, when used, is kept and maintained in good condition during and after work.
- Guarantee the result of the work in terms of quality, deadline and safety of the supervised mechanical work
- Establish compliance control, traceability and quality monitoring documents.
- Write a work report for the interventions.
- Use the main measuring devices in metrology (calipers, depth gauges, vernier micrometers, 2-touch/3-touch internal micrometers, comparators, etc.)
- Participate in establishing the various schedules necessary for managing the work.
- Define the internal and external training actions to be carried out to develop the skills of mechanical and machinist employees:
- Personally contribute to the training of your teams: transfer of know-how, deployment of best practices, one-off training following action plans (safety, quality, etc.).

Your profile:
- Must have knowledge of propulsion maintenance (propeller shaft, bow thruster, etc.), as well as knowledge of hydraulics for repairing winches, capstans, etc.
- Read and interpret supplier/equipment manufacturer notices, plans mechanical, follow work instructions, and procedures.
- Interpret and carry out alignments of shaft lines or any other equipment requiring alignment (propulsion motor, reducer, pump, etc.).
- Ability to analyse situations in order to propose repair solutions.
- Ability to define resources and materials for the establishment of estimates for mechanical projects.
- Ability to form teams.
- Technical working English essential.
