Wind Turbine Technician (Hawaii)

My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wind Turbine Technician who would like to work in the warm climates of Hawaii.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of our fleet of Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines, playing a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance and generating clean energy for our communities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on Siemens 2.3 MW turbines following OEM guidelines and safety protocols.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, identifying and resolving malfunctions using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Conduct thorough inspections of turbine components, including nacelle, hub, blades, and tower, ensuring operational integrity.
• Perform minor to complex repairs on various turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Participate in major component replacements (gearboxes, generators, blades) under the supervision of senior technicians.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, documenting findings and actions taken.
• Adhere to strict safety regulations and procedures at all times, working safely at heights and in challenging weather conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with other technicians and engineers to ensure efficient workflow and problem-solving.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting operational enhancements and identifying potential safety hazards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working on Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in wind turbine systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic principles as applied to wind turbine technology.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training and relevant turbine safety certifications.
• Siemens Level 3/4 CT or AT Technician certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to work.
• Excellent physical fitness and stamina, capable of working at heights and in physically demanding conditions.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
