Service Technician (Air compressors) - West Fargo, ND

Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 (Depending on experience) + Overtime + Benefits

Location: West Fargo, ND

FLSA Status: Non exempt

Overview:

  • The main duties of the Service Technician involve delivering assistance to customers of the business through vehicle repairs, equipment maintenance, refurbishment, and rebuilding. It is essential for the Service Technician to consistently display a constructive and efficient demeanor when interacting with all customers, colleagues, and suppliers at the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the collaborative efforts of the businesses Sales and Service team to provide diagnostic, maintenance, repair, and technical support across all electrical, mechanical, and compressed air applications.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of compressed air systems and propose upgrade recommendations.
  • Deliver service and repairs for on-road and off-road equipment, as well as fluid power and industrial compressed air systems as required.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of supplier and the businesses forms, documents, and procedures used to maintain accurate repair documentation and guide all service tasks.
  • Commit to and consistently uphold the companies safety commitment in all actions and communications as detailed in our safety handbook and procedures.
  • Participate in product and technical training for the companies customers and staff, specifically on compressed air products.
  • Attend the mandatory training programs encompassing products, factory-sponsored sales and service training, self-development, and safety training offered through the business.
  • Respond promptly and accurately, with a positive attitude, to all customer inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to meet customer expectations, which may involve joint customer visits, while aligning with corporate objectives and customer service standards.
  • Contribute to achieving productivity and sales targets.
  • Maintain a basic working knowledge of standard products sufficient to handle initial sales inquiries.
  • Liaise with the service manager to address tool, equipment, and inventory needs.
  • Be flexible to work overtime, travel, and occasionally take on an on-call shift.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Keep the work area clean to ensure safety and facilitate project completion.
  • Collaborate with others to foster a friendly, welcoming, and positive team environment.
  • Fulfill any additional duties delegated by Senior Management.
  • Expected travel time (40%)

Preferred experience:

  • Vacuums (Preferred)
  • Air Compressors (Preferred)
  • Hydraulics, motors, valves, cylinders or experienced in a similar field.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing compressed air and pneumatic systems, components, and compressed air electronic systems.
  • Proficiency in comprehending electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Highly motivated to stay updated on the latest developments in compressed air technology.
  • Possesses excellent analytical and computational skills, demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks even under intense pressure.
  • Excels in providing superior customer service and exhibits a strong self-driven work ethic.
  • Upholds a high level of integrity and ethical values.
  • Demonstrates outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer usage for record-keeping.
  • Maintains a clean driving record and can routinely handle lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • while consistently utilizing arms and legs with a full range of motion.
  • Engages in frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling, and can exert both push and pull forces as needed.
