About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommuications Payload Engineer for a global leading satellite communications company. This role involves designing sophisticated telecommunication space payloads, including communication chains, transponders, onboard processing units, multibeam forming, distribution units, and power management. You will work within an R&D framework, continuously improving and innovating satcom architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mission analysis for communication space system requirements and down-flows.
- Conduct SWaPC analysis and define interfaces (digital, electrical, RF, optical, mechanical/thermal).
- Collaborate and challenge external contractors on technical matters.
- Assist with reliability analysis, simulations, design choices, and supporting space qualification activities.
- Support program management, including collaborating with customers on programmatic and schedule matters.
- Participate in integration, launch, and in-orbit commissioning.
- Prepare presentations and reports for the full development process.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 8-10 years in SatCom and communication payload architectures for LEO/MEO/GEO/HEO, HW/SW design for space applications, digital design for space communications, and digital regenerative payloads.
- Educational Background: MS/PhD in Engineering (SatCom system, Telecommunications, Electronics, Digital Systems, Automation, etc.).
- Technical Expertise: Experience with inter-satellite links, digital phased array antennas, orbital analysis tools, TT&C platform, and Ansys Systems Tool Kit (STK).
- Additional Skills: Proven experience in operations, including satellite TT&C operations, payload operations, users, and network management facilities.
- Citizenship: Swiss or EU (27) Citizenship or valid Swiss working permit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with ESA/NASA Telecoms programs.
- Previous expereince with successfully launched satellite systems.
- Proactive, enjoys challenges, and works well within a diverse international team.
