Civil Engineering

As a Structural Investigator, your role will involve:

  • Examining and analyzing structural collapses, failures, damages, and defects in residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings caused by various factors.
  • Developing remediation plans and designing documents for the repair or reinforcement of existing structures.
  • Producing clear, precise, and accurate reports.
  • Maintaining regular communication with diverse clients.
  • Overseeing multiple projects of varying sizes, scopes, and durations.
  • Providing expert testimony in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.


Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency in fundamental structural engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Familiarity with building codes and the capability to independently research codes, standards, and technical references.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain engineering principles to audiences with different levels of technical understanding.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Prompt responsiveness to inquiries from peers and clients, even outside of standard working hours.
  • Flexibility in work schedule and readiness to travel on short notice.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and development of technical knowledge through ongoing education.

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering is required.
  • Ideally, five to ten years of experience in structural design; candidates with less experience will also be considered.
  • An active Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.
