Job Title: Digital Frontend Design Engineer

Location: Netherlands

Job Specification:

We are currently seeking an experienced Digital Frontend Design Engineer to join our team in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in ASIC design, RTL design, and overall chip architecture. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in driving projects from conception to completion, contributing to the development of cutting-edge semiconductor solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the frontend digital design efforts for complex ASIC projects, from initial concept to tape-out.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define chip architecture and specifications based on project requirements.
  • Design and implement RTL (Register Transfer Level) code for digital blocks, ensuring functionality, performance, and scalability.
  • Perform RTL simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis to validate and optimize the design.
  • Drive design closure activities, including floor planning, synthesis, and timing closure.
  • Work closely with verification engineers to develop comprehensive verification plans and ensure design correctness.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
  • Actively participate in design reviews, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions to address them.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in ASIC design methodologies, tools, and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ASIC design, with a focus on frontend digital design and RTL coding.
  • Proven track record of driving ASIC projects from concept to production, with a strong understanding of chip architecture.
  • Proficiency in RTL coding languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
  • Extensive experience with ASIC design tools and EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software.
  • Solid understanding of digital design concepts, including pipelining, clock domain crossing, and low-power design techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects, driving them through to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced ASIC technologies and methodologies, such as FinFET, High-Speed SerDes, or DDR PHY.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or TCL for automation tasks.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard protocols such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, or DDR.
  • Prior experience with FPGA prototyping and emulation platforms.
  • Understanding of ASIC validation methodologies, including FPGA prototyping and emulation.
