Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain geospatial software applications and tools, with a focus on backend development using Python and frontend development using JavaScript (React, Angular, or similar frameworks)
• Develop and optimize APIs and microservices to support geospatial data processing, visualization, and analysis
• Build data pipelines and workflows for processing large geospatial datasets using Python and SQL
• Implement geospatial algorithms, working with libraries such as GDAL, GeoPandas, and PostGIS
• Collaborate with product development teams to create innovative geospatial solutions, from web mapping applications to spatial analysis tools
• Leverage cloud platforms (AWS preferred) to deploy and manage scalable geospatial applications and services
• Integrate external geospatial data sources such as satellite imagery and mapping services into applications
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers within the team
• Engage with clients to support technical delivery and ensure geospatial solutions meet their needs
• Contribute to the overall product development strategy from a technical geospatial perspective

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in software development with a focus on geospatial applications, using Python and JavaScript
• Expertise in geospatial libraries and frameworks such as GDAL, GeoPandas, and PostGIS
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) and backend technologies (Flask, Django, or Node.js)
• Strong experience working with spatial databases and SQL for geospatial data storage and querying
• Experience deploying and managing geospatial applications on cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Knowledge of geospatial standards such as OGC and working with data formats like GeoJSON, Shapefiles, and raster data
• Cross-functional mindset, able to collaborate across development, data engineering, and product teams
• Passion for mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative environment
• Willingness to travel to Milan and work onsite 2 days per week (hybrid remote model)
