My client's products are used in a variety of industries, including aerospace, power generation, and oil and gas, with a strong track record of innovation, and its products are known for their high performance and reliability.

In this role, you will be responsible for the conception, calculation, and design of gas bearings.

You will also be responsible for:

• combining and integrating boundary conditions given by adjoining disciplines of rotor dynamics, electrical machinery, aerodynamics, thermal system behavior, and manufacturing.
• continuous improvement of the gas bearing design and simulation tool chain.
• collaborating in interdisciplinary project teams with other development engineers, production, and quality, as well as suppliers.
• providing support during commissioning and experimental verification of new gas bearing designs.

About you:

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering (ETH/UNI/FH) or comparable education
• Experience in the design of gas bearings or rotor dynamics
• Practical experience in Matlab and CAD (Autodesk Inventor)
• Joy in solving technically challenging problems with an interdisciplinary character
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Good knowledge of German is a strong plus
