Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Robotics Engineer to join our dynamic team in Eindhoven. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced robotics solutions for our mobile robotic platforms. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and developers to push the boundaries of what our mobile robots can achieve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:
    • Develop and implement algorithms for navigation, motion planning, SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), and obstacle avoidance.
    • Design control systems for mobile robots, including both low-level motor control and high-level path planning.
  • Software Development:
    • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code in C++/Python for robotic applications.
    • Develop real-time software for embedded systems and ensure seamless integration with hardware.
    • Implement and test machine learning algorithms to improve robot autonomy and decision-making capabilities.
  • Prototyping and Testing:
    • Build and test prototypes, iterating designs based on test results and performance metrics.
    • Conduct simulations and real-world testing of mobile robots to ensure performance under various environmental conditions.
    • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic systems to achieve high reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics software with hardware platforms.
    • Document designs, algorithms, and test results comprehensively.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics and integrate new technologies and methodologies into ongoing projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in robotics development, with a focus on mobile robotics.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) and other robotics middleware.
  • Proven experience with motion planning, SLAM, and autonomous navigation algorithms.
  • Solid understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and control theory.
  • Experience with real-time software development and embedded systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Experience with machine learning and AI applications in robotics.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as Gazebo, V-REP, or Webots.
  • Experience in hardware design or working closely with hardware engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in the automotive, logistics, or industrial automation sectors.
