Hardware Engineer

Hardware Development Engineer | Basel & Home Office | 6+ Month Contract

Darwin Recruitment has a new vacancy at one of our clients located in Basel where we are looking to hire a Hardware Development Engineer to start as soon as possible.

General Conditions:

• Contract type: consultant / contractor / employed freelancer
• Location: Basel 2 days per week / From home 3 days per week
• Duration: 6 months + extensions
• All-Inc Hourly rate: Negotiable
• Start date: June 2024

Please note: This team has remote meetings and global projects, so the presence to be onsite in Basel is only needed 2 days per week.

Your main tasks

• Actively drive development of innovative electronics solutions and system architectures for my clients "state of the art" Medical Device
• Defining requirements, creating design documentation and verification of test plans
• Provide 3rd level product care HW improvements relating to my clients product range through continuous refinement and bringing in innovative technology solutions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design and development processes within the team
• Participate in peer reviews of the various hardware development artifacts
• Experience of the following tools are considered an advantage: Altium Designer, DOORS Next, Minitab
• Deliver work in compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA Medical Device Design / Control processes

Your profile

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 4 years practical experience in this field
• Proven track record of developing embedded hardware solutions ideally within the medical devices industry
• Thorough knowledge of electronics assembly processes and test methodologies
• Very good knowledge of German and English (B2 or higher preferred)
