Control Engineer

The Controls Engineer is responsible for overseeing project execution, operations, and maintenance support for the company's Automation and Controls platform. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to understand the company's hardware, software, and network strategy. The engineer will manage the controls environment (hardware, software, networks) and develop and implement automation solutions to enhance control system capabilities. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with designing, commissioning, and launching future versions of the controls platform.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as the primary contact for operations support, ensuring continuity of the controls platform.
  • Provide technical support to maintain continuous manufacturing operations.
  • Train operations personnel on new processes and technologies related to controls engineering.
  • Manage projects involving the controls platform and associated hardware, software, and networks.
  • Design, commission, and launch automation and control solutions that integrate with the existing controls platform and strategy.
  • Troubleshoot issues with PLCs, controllers, networks, VFDs, power systems, control and automation software, and other related components.
  • Stay updated on controls systems, hardware, and software standards and market trends to keep the company's environment current.
  • Serve as the main contact for third-party automation integrators.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Engage with technology vendors and partners.
  • Travel as needed for stakeholder meetings, operational support, and technology R&D or deployments.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for operations with controls-related issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, and any required aptitude and competency assessments.
  • Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Maintain daily, predictable attendance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • 3-5 years of experience in automation, controls, and electrical equipment.
  • Preferable knowledge of Hydraulic Fracturing activities.
  • Preferable experience with Siemens S7 platform.
  • Proficiency in equipment controls and logic.
  • Ability to read electrical/controls drawings.
  • Ability to read network diagrams.
