Embedded Linux Software Engineer

An international company based in St. Gallen is seeking a new team member to join its headquarters.

he company specializes in the development and production of electronics and electronic devices for a diverse range of well-known clients, with a focus on industrial and medical technology sectors.

As a member of our development team, this role offers versatility and the opportunity to apply your expertise in Embedded Linux to a variety of development and customer projects. Through your active involvement, you will play a key role in shaping these projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing software for embedded Linux systems
• Integrating and adapting Linux components for both our own hardware and customer-specific hardware
• Building applications using C++ and Qt
• Implementing and conducting software and hardware tests, including for in-house production
• Collaborating with the internal project management and hardware development teams.

Qualifications required for this position include:

• Completed studies (UNI/FH/HF) with a focus on computer science, electrical engineering, or systems engineering
• Experience in embedded Linux development, including kernel, drivers, and tools, preferably with knowledge of the Yocto framework
• Experience in developing applications using C/C++ and the Qt Framework
• Knowledge of electronics and common communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and others.
