Mechanical Engineer/Design Engineer

I am recruiting on behalf of a client which is currently seeking a experienced Mechanical Engineer/Design Engineer based in Aurora, IL

Job Description:

- Utilize Solidworks software to design models and drafts of both current and new products, while also keeping track of existing engineering records.

- Possessing the skill to build prototypes and validate design requirements alongside the engineering and purchasing team would be advantageous.

- Conduct physical assessments on engineering prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility and resilience of the products.

- The position also demands an individual who is well-ordered and self-controlled, capable of enhancing existing products and supervising their manufacturing process. Additionally, this person will be responsible for presenting quotes and diagrams to clients.

Requirements:

- Possess an advanced level of proficiency in using Solidworks.

- Scrutinize current product Bills of Materials (BOMs) and drafts to ensure their precision.

- Create and generate tools for robotic welders.

- Capable of independently guiding oneself throughout the product development process.

- Take part in inventory process when necessary.

Required skills:

- BS/BA in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering

- Exceptional proficiency in Solidworks is essential, with the ability to produce highly intricate and detailed drafts.

- Have mechanical proficiency with skills in designing, manufacturing, repairing, and more.

- Experience in manufacturing with an appreciation of the production process is advantageous.

- Capable of forming relationships with vendors and skilful in bargaining with them.

- Possess an exceptional attention to detail.

- Creativity

- Highly organized

- Having experience with EPICOR is beneficial, although not mandatory.

- Exhibit a professional demeanour and presentation and interact effectively with both clients and colleagues.

- Spanish speaking will be a great bonus

- Having knowledge of ISO processes, including their implementation and upkeep, is beneficial, but not mandatory.

- Experience in Quality Control is advantageous, but not essential.
